To bring the 2020 Healthcare and Emergency Training Forum to a close, the Multidisciplinary Accident Intervention course took place on October 22nd and 23rd.
This training was held at The Ibiza Conference Center (Palacio de Congresos) in Santa Eulària des Riu, attended by members of the Ibiza local police, civil protection, firefighters from the Consell d’Eivissa and Consell de Formentera, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), nurses, and physicians.
Its 21 in-person training hours were divided into day and night phases, during which simulations and role-playing were conducted to recreate real-world intervention scenarios.
Through this theoretical-practical methodology, attendees successfully integrated the necessary knowledge to establish a joint response protocol for mixed medical care between firefighters and healthcare providers, enabling them to locate and reach one or more victims in an emergency setting safely and effectively—always safeguarding the lives of team members while attending to individuals in life-threatening danger as swiftly as possible.
The Multidisciplinary Accident Intervention course was taught by 6 instructors from Emergency Staff specializing in medical and firefighting fields, with theatrical dramatizations provided by the ES Dramatic theatre group.
With this course, we say goodbye to another edition of the 2020 Healthcare and Emergency Training Forum.
It has been a pleasure sharing these multidisciplinary training sessions with all of you. We hope that everything learned serves as a valuable tool in the daily practice of all our healthcare and emergency personnel.
See you in 2021!
