From March 3rd to 17th, Ibiza once again becomes a gathering point for emergency, security, and social welfare professionals with the staging of the 7th National Forum on Emergencies and Social Issues, an initiative driven by Emergency Staff taking place at the Ibiza Conference Centre (Santa Eulària des Riu) and culminating in a keynote address by psychologist and author Elsa Punset.

This forum, which receives institutional support from the Consell d’Eivissa and the Santa Eulària des Riu Town Council, has established itself as a national benchmark in specialized training for healthcare, social work, security forces, and fire services professionals.

The goal of the gathering is to strengthen prevention, detection, and coordinated intervention in emergencies and complex social issues, addressing topics such as addiction, chemical submission, gender-based violence, assaults on professionals, and care for vulnerable groups.

Advanced training to enhance response in critical situations

Over the course of two weeks, participating professionals will have access to advanced and specialized training designed to improve response capacity in high social impact situations, promoting more effective, humanized, and coordinated interventions.

The forum seeks to reinforce the system’s capacity to prevent, detect, and act early—preventing escalations of violence, improving victim care, and ensuring safe interventions for both professionals and the public.

During the forum’s presentation press conference, speakers highlighted the importance of creating collaborative spaces among professionals from various sectors to share knowledge, protocols, and experiences aimed at improving the coordination and effectiveness of interventions.

Forum Educational Program

This edition’s program combines high-level technical training, practical simulations, and reflective sessions across three specialized courses addressing different intervention scenarios.

NIGHT & DAY Drugs 360º

March 3, 4, and 5

This course addresses comprehensive intervention in substance-use scenarios, including acute intoxication, drug-facilitated sexual assault, and consumption-related pathologies.

The training incorporates an immersive methodology with hyper-realistic simulations and dramatized scenarios, where participants face critical situations designed to train decision-making under pressure.

In this edition, the course takes a major qualitative leap with the endorsement of the Ministry of Health’s National Plan on Drugs and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).

The teaching faculty comprises 13 leading professionals, including psychiatrist Giovanni Martinotti, an internationally renowned addiction researcher, and psychologist Núria Calzada, a harm reduction specialist with over twenty years of experience.

CPAH – Control of Agitated/Aggressive Persons in Hostile Environments

March 5 and 6

This course focuses on preventing and managing violent incidents in complex settings, delivering tools for early detection of agitation, de-escalation techniques, operational communication, and safe containment.

Participants practice intervention protocols in high-tension environments, covering scenarios related to assaults, gender-based violence, or high-risk situations, always with the goal of ensuring safety for both the responding team and the individual receiving care.

IMACC – Multidisciplinary Accident Response

March 9 and 10

The IMACC course focuses on optimizing coordination and response during complex accidents and incidents, uniting professionals from diverse fields within a single intervention scenario.

The training combines day and night simulations, teamwork dynamics, and high-pressure scenarios that enable rapid decision-making training, reducing mortality and enhancing victim care.

Additionally, it addresses the emotional impact generated by these interventions—a crucial aspect for professionals working in critical environments.

Keynote address by Elsa Punset: Emotional Well-being and Leadership

On March 17th, the forum will conclude with a keynote presentation by Elsa Punset, one of the Spanish-speaking world’s most renowned authors and speakers on emotional intelligence.

Her lecture will focus on emotional management, resilience, and conscious leadership, offering tools to help professionals working in high-demand situations manage stress, strengthen well-being, and enhance the quality of their interventions.

This final day provides a space for reflection and connection with the core purpose driving those working in emergency services and social welfare care.
