On November 18th, Valencia hosted the opening day of the 5th National Nightlife Congress, a key event for analyzing the present and future of the nightlife industry. In this context, our CEO and President, Lluís Andrés Tubau, was invited to play a key role moderating the panel discussion “Prioritizing Health and Well-being in the Nightlife Industry”, held at the Hotel SH Valencia Palace. His participation not only represents recognition of his professional career, but also of the work Emergency Staff has been carrying out for years to place health and prevention at the heart of nightlife and major events.

A moderator with a healthcare perspective and field expertise

The International Nightlife Association, organizers of the Congress, entrusted Lluís to lead one of the day’s most sensitive panel discussions: how to care for people in an industry defined by extreme hours, high demands, and constant exposure to stimuli.

As CEO of Emergency Staff, Lluís brings extensive experience in:

  • Design and coordination of medical response deployments in nightlife environments and large-scale events.
  • Specialized training for nightlife teams, security staff, and medical personnel in prevention, first aid, and emotional management.
  • Implementation of health and safety protocols tailored to real-world high-pressure environments.

All of this allowed him to guide the panel with a highly practical approach—moving beyond merely discussing problems to steering the debate toward concrete solutions that the industry can start applying right away.

The panel “Prioritizing Health and Well-being in the Nightlife Industry” brought together four leading figures in their respective fields:

  • Alexander Som, DJ and producer.
  • Claudio Vidal, from Energy Control, a leading organization in risk reduction and prevention associated with drug use in nightlife environments.
  • Rob Shepheard, from Listen For Life, an audiologist specializing in hearing health in the music industry.
  • Rosana Corbacho, from Music Industry Therapy, a psychologist specializing in mental health for music and entertainment professionals.

In the first round, Lluís focused the discussion on well-being and prevention, addressing with Claudio Vidal (Energy Control) how the perception of recreational drug use has changed and what the sector can do to create safer environments; with Alexander Som, he brought the conversation to a personal level, discussing the impact of touring schedules on artists’ health and the need to normalize self-care so it is not viewed as a weakness.

In the second round, he turned the spotlight on mental health alongside Rosana Corbacho (Music Industry Therapy), examining common issues facing artists, barriers to seeking help, and how to integrate emotional prevention into club and festival management. Lluís emphasized that mental health is not a side issue, but a core pillar for the human and artistic sustainability of the industry.

In the third round, he addressed hearing health with Rob Shepheard (Listen For Life), delving into hearing loss risks for DJs and music industry workers, as well as measures clubs and festivals can take to protect hearing without compromising sound quality. The section concluded with an open question to the entire panel on what a “healthy night” means to them and what elements define a space that truly prioritizes well-being.

What this participation means for Emergency Staff

Lluís’s participation as a moderator in this congress reinforces Emergency Staff’s position as a benchmark organization in health, prevention, and training within the nightlife industry.

It means:

  • That the voice of our CEO and our team is taken into account when shaping future nightlife models.
  • That Emergency Staff’s hands-on experience in clubs and large-scale events is valued as inspiration for evolving how nightlife is managed.
  • That the industry recognizes the importance of embedding a human and healthcare perspective into discussions on business, tourism, and entertainment.

Looking ahead: A safer, more human, and sustainable nightlife

Lluís’s participation in the 5th National Nightlife Congress goes far beyond a photo opportunity or a program listing: it represents another step forward in a clear roadmap.

At Emergency Staff, we will continue:

  • Training teams to effectively prevent, detect, and respond to emergencies.
  • Designing medical deployments and prevention plans tailored to the unique realities of each event.
  • Participating in forums and discussion panels where the future directions of the sector are defined.

Because we are convinced that the future of nightlife rests on a simple yet powerful idea: nightlife can be a space for enjoyment while simultaneously caring for people’s health and well-being. That is the journey where we will continue to support the industry, guided by the vision and commitment of our CEO, Lluís Andrés Tubau.
