Practical training during an AED operation course
The company delivered a Basic Life Support and AED course on April 4th and 5th for staff at both facilities
On April 4th and 5th, Emergency Staff delivered a training course for 18 employees of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa and the Can Raspalls swimming pool to turn both facilities into “cardiac protected spaces”. As Andrés García Córdoba, Training Director at the company, noted: “The goal is to equip staff at these sites with the precise knowledge to operate the defibrillators installed last week and respond effectively during emergencies.”
These courses are certified by the Balearic Government and feature both technical and theoretical modules split across two four-hour sessions. The practical modules were conducted at the swimming pool facility.
“Our aim is to present basic life support protocols to increase survival odds for individuals suffering from ventricular fibrillation, as every passing minute without intervention reduces patient survival by 10 percent—meaning that if action is not taken within the first 8 minutes, mortality risk is extremely high,” summarized García Córdoba. Emergency Staff’s Training Director specified that most cardiorespiratory arrests occur outside hospital environments, “making it essential for these devices to be placed across public venues to save lives.” He added that these devices “are very simple to use and extremely safe for patients.”
Emergency Staff distributes next-generation defibrillators on the island—something that the Training Director considers “extremely positive, as we can directly recommend the most suitable unit for each location, explain its operation, and resolve any operational issues,” he concluded.
