Ausín, Medical Coordinator, and Maroto, Emergency Staff Instructor, visited the Ibiza Conference Centre in Santa Eulària des Riu to participate in workshops organized by the local town council for Civil Protection personnel. Throughout the day, we covered key objectives such as identifying and assessing polytrauma accidents, introducing trainees to various real-world scenarios and polytrauma cases. Additionally, we reviewed the PAS protocol (Protect, Alert, Succor/Assist), providing an introductory grounding in initial care for polytrauma patients. Out-of-hospital medical emergencies happen unexpectedly, and many are witnessed by our Civil Protection colleagues, who become first responders responsible for initiating and activating the chain of survival.
We have an outstanding team of volunteers on the streets who undeniably deserve a huge round of applause.
