In our February digital magazine, we shared an article reflecting on two macro-trends that we believe are highly prevalent today: uncertainty and sustainability. Being a sustainable company implies a clear commitment to the environment. Because despite the constant temptation to strip human qualities from “the company” as if it were a detached entity, we should not forget that a company is ultimately a group of people generating economic resources while acting in alignment with leadership’s direction. And generating economic resources can indeed be accomplished while maintaining a clear and well-defined social commitment.
Environmental issues encompass everything that hinders the realization of the human right to enjoy a healthy environment. Curiously, we humans—by driving soil pollution or destroying habitats—are the ones placing obstacles to making this right effective.
Environmental challenges threaten our planet and the entire present and future population. Without clean water and air, sufficient food, or biodiversity-rich ecosystems, is it possible to guarantee social rights? For this reason, at Emergency Staff we maintain a total commitment to the Environment within our scope of action:
Reduction of plastic waste in our 2020 Healthcare and Emergency Training Forum
We have eliminated all plastic materials from our courses: single-use plastic water bottles and non-recyclable items. Instead, we introduce, promote, and encourage the use of the ZeroWaste Pack.
Reduction of paper in office management.
We introduced an APP that significantly reduces paper usage across all internal company communications, staff management, contracts, payroll, etc.
