Clínica Universidad de Navarra brought together 80 healthcare professionals over two days for specialized training in agitated/aggressive patient management alongside our Emergency Staff instructors.
The renowned university hospital located in Pamplona leaves nothing to chance. Over the years, their hospital prevention department has developed a robust internal security protocol, attending to every detail. This time they entrusted Emergency Staff with delivering our Agitated/Aggressive Patient Management course for emergency and psychiatric personnel (physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, orderlies), focusing on assault mitigation strategies: learning to repel aggression, minimize harm, escape, and call for help.
The program introduced a 4-tiered escalation strategy, addressing real-world scenarios healthcare workers encounter during escalating hostility or agitation from patients and family members.
Early detection of situations that could trigger aggression is the cornerstone of this program. This initial assessment triggers protective measures tailored to each professional and scenario.
