The private company treats patients on-site free of charge.
The private company Emergency Staff has prevented hospital admissions in 95 percent of substance-use cases treated on the Island. This achievement represents “savings of over one million euros for public funds and significant decompression of emergency rooms and ambulance services.”
Ibiza’s main nightlife venues contract this private firm to provide on-site medical treatment to individuals requiring care.
Emergency Staff, directed by Andrés García Córdoba and Lluís Andrés Tubau, comprises “a team of doctors and nurses with specialized training to cover emergencies and medical incidents common to entertainment environments.” The company’s goal, as Tubau indicated, is “to deliver immediate and complimentary response to any medical emergency arising among patrons across Ibiza’s premier venues.”
Approximately half of the patients treated by Emergency Staff suffered from drug intoxications. “Since most cases are managed directly within our on-site medical rooms, Can Misses Hospital has experienced a noticeable decline in ER admissions over recent years,” Tubau specified in a press release.
