Ibiza company Emergency Staff is delivering training courses starting today through Saturday, July 12th, designed to enable Ibiza Local Police officers and staff at Santa Eulalia Sports Facilities to respond correctly during medical emergencies. These theoretical and practical classes focus on the use of AEDs and Oxygen Therapy Equipment in emergency situations. As Andrés García, Training Director at the company, states: “This training is of immense importance because the sooner life support and defibrillation maneuvers begin during cardiac arrest, the higher the chances of success. The role of first responders in emergencies is vital.”

Participants will learn proper semi-automated external defibrillator (AED) operation and how to identify health emergencies to react appropriately during cardiorespiratory arrest in both adults and children. “These situations can occur at any moment, and it is crucial that law enforcement and public facility managers know how to operate these devices to complement medical care,” explains Andrés García.

This course is officially certified by the Health Ministry of the Balearic Government. Theoretical instruction is complemented by Emergency Staff’s pioneering EST (Emergency Stress Training) technique, allowing participants to hone their skills under realistic high-stress scenarios. Exercises will cover choking interventions, hemorrhage control, workplace emergencies, and accident response.

The Training Director at Emergency Staff concludes: “This knowledge is crucial because both police officers and sports facility personnel act as first responders in emergency scenes, meaning that in most cases they are responsible for activating the chain of survival by alerting emergency services.”

Along these lines, as García specifies, “the importance of a correct intervention by these professionals in the initial minutes of cardiorespiratory arrest is vital and crucial for a person’s survival during an accident.” The ultimate objective of the courses is to integrate life-saving tools and mindsets into daily professional practice.

The first course will take place from July 7th to 11th, spanning 10 hours of instruction for 36 participants. Classes will be held at the Ibiza Local Police facilities in Cetis. The “AED and Oxygen Therapy Equipment Training” course for sports facility staff at Santa Eulalia Town Council will open on July 12th, lasting 8 hours, and will take place at municipal sports venues.
