Officers from the Ibiza Local Police department will attend a Drug Poisoning & Intoxications (INTDRG) course tomorrow, delivered by Ibiza company Emergency Staff, equipping officers to detect such cases and respond effectively in situations requiring urgent care.
The theoretical-practical training will cover the classification of drugs of abuse based on Central Nervous System effects, observable symptoms of intoxication across different substances, and an analysis of classic substances—such as alcohol, cocaine, MDMA, cannabis, GHB, or ketamine—as well as emerging substances like research chemicals or 4-methylaminorex, among others.
As Andrés García Córdoba, Training Director at the company, notes: “Detecting warning signs that police officers must observe to deliver emergency first response from minute zero until 061 medical teams arrive is crucial. It is essential that their actions extend beyond identifying cases to knowing how to manage them effectively,” he points out.
