Staff from the Social Welfare Department and the Citizen Service Center (SAC) of Ibiza Town Council are attending the Aggressive People Management (CPA) Course delivered by Ibiza company Emergency Staff from yesterday, April 11th, through tomorrow, April 13th. This nationwide pioneering training will build upon the knowledge acquired by municipal staff who attended last year’s edition, while introducing new participants to verbal de-escalation techniques, negotiation skills, and physical repulsion tactics against an assault.
As Andrés García, Training Director at Emergency Staff, highlights: “It is essential that we all learn to evaluate hostility and health emergency situations early on, in order to safely access locations where we are needed and take action.” Along these lines, the expert explains that the course combines theoretical sessions with practical workshops replicating the high-stress situations these groups face.
This course will be held again on June 9th, 10th, and 11th, bringing together healthcare professionals and emergency responders from across the country to the Pityusic Islands for an officially accredited program recognized both nationally and internationally. This specific course is tailored for police and healthcare personnel focusing on joint operations in hostile areas.
This initiative aims to position the island as a national benchmark in specialized emergency training, featuring certified courses accredited by the Continuing Education Commission (CFC) of the Balearic Regional Health Ministry and the Spanish Ministry of Health.
An Island Pioneering in Prevention
For Andrés García, Ibiza serves as a prime example of preventive training across all sectors: healthcare, emergency services, government institutions, and nightlife.
Clear proof of this includes the emergency training conducted on March 31st at the Fire Station, the Drug Poisoning & Intoxications Course scheduled for April 18th–21st, the Firefighters and Healthcare Staff Course on April 22nd–24th, the Youth Drug Prevention Sessions starting April 28th and running through several dates in May, and the swimming pool AED certification course launched this week.
“We have participated in international emergency congresses such as Lisbon last year, the Madrid Emergency Conference next month, and SMACC in Dublin on June 14th–15th where we are keynote speakers,” notes Andrés García, pointing out that these achievements are no coincidence.
