The Drug Poisoning & Intoxications and Management of Agitated Patients in Hostile Areas courses delivered by Ibiza-based company Emergency Staff have been rated by SAMUR Madrid as the best in Spain. According to Madrid’s Municipal Emergency Health and Rescue Service (SAMUR), “our evaluation is extremely positive. We discovered exceptional professionals who have trained over 400 of our staff, first in a basic module and later in an advanced module on Aggressive Patient Management.” SAMUR management, who also trained with Emergency Staff, praises the experiential clinical simulation used to build realistic scenarios, as well as how the Ibiza company works with specific intervention protocols for self-protection, control, immobilization, and sedation, “always within a safe framework.” These courses, they specify, “are highly recommended for doctors, nurses, and emergency medical technicians.” Indeed, as Training Director Andrés García notes, “more and more institutions and entities are requesting us to deliver our courses for their healthcare professionals in other provinces and countries.”

9th Edition of the Management of Agitated Patients in Hostile Areas Course

On June 9th and 10th, Emergency Staff will host the 9th Edition of its Management of Agitated Patients in Hostile Areas (CPAH) course in Es Cubells, featuring police officers, nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals from across Spain.

“On June 9th, sessions will be predominantly theoretical, while physical training will begin on the afternoon of the 10th, featuring actor-led aggression workshops and night-phase practicals simulating hostile areas and high-risk scenarios such as knife or gunshot wound cases,” summarizes Andrés García.

“This is one of our most demanded courses of the year, and all spots were filled weeks ago,” specifies the Emergency Staff Training Director, adding that “the demand for these training programs is extremely high, positioning us as a leading destination for disseminating action protocols in this field.”

As Andrés García explains, “these are two intense days during which we equip students with the precise knowledge required to intervene in cases where a simple drug intoxication escalates into aggression, traffic accidents, or sexual assaults. That is why we teach our students to look beyond what is visible at first glance.”

This course leads healthcare workers to gain a deeper scientific and psychological understanding of these patients. García emphasizes that “behind substance abuse, there can be aggressive patients who may compromise our physical safety, and we must know how to treat them while protecting ourselves.”

Participation in the International Critical Care and Emergency Congress

Andrés García also announced today that he will participate as a keynote speaker at one of the world’s largest medical gatherings on June 14th and 15th in Dublin: the International Critical Care and Emergency Congress. Within the framework of this summit, García will deliver an Emergency Staff workshop titled ALVA (Alternative Vascular Access).

This event gathers international professionals, primarily from the English-speaking world—USA, Canada, England, and Australia.

Andrés García previously participated in a similar conference in Lisbon in 2015. “Being called upon, sought out, and invited to speak at congresses of this caliber inspires us to keep committing to high-level training and striving to improve every day,” concludes the expert.
