Emergency Staff is the only Spanish company at the International Congress on Critical Care and Emergency Medicine

The heads of the Training and Healthcare Assistance in Nightlife Venues divisions at the Ibiza-based company Emergency Staff, Andrés García and Lluís Andrés Tubau, participated in the International Critical Care and Emergency Congress, SMACC, held this week in Dublin.

It is the only national company to deliver a workshop at one of the world’s premier medical events, held in Ireland’s capital from Monday through today. Emergency Staff brought to life its AlternatIV—Alternative Vascular Access training, focusing on alternative vascular access, before an audience of over 500 international professionals using the SIMEX training methodology—”the best option for critical emergency care training,” as specified by Lluís Andrés Tubau. “Our participation here has been a resounding success because we were the only booth offering training grounded in clinical experience and on-site field work, where conference attendees could see the application of AlternatIV under real-life conditions,” the expert explained.

SMACC hosted over 6,000 international healthcare professionals, predominantly from the English-speaking world—USA, Canada, England, and Australia.

According to Andrés García, Training Director at Emergency Staff, “this is not the first time we have been invited to a congress of this caliber, as we attended the Lisbon edition last year.” For the expert, this highlights “how our company is positioning itself internationally as a benchmark in medical training.”

In fact, García announced that on June 28th, his company will deliver an 8-hour workshop in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) for this new alternative vascular access training presented in Dublin: AlternatIV.

Around twenty out-of-hospital emergency doctors and nurses (061) from Andalusia, Murcia, Valencia, Catalonia, and SUMMA112 in Madrid will attend. The course, sponsored by Teleflex, is fully booked, and Emergency Staff will deploy its proprietary SIMEX (Experiential Simulation) training method.

Successful Training Programs

The Management of Agitated/Aggressive Patients and Hostile Areas course delivered by Ibiza-based Emergency Staff last week during its fifth annual edition in Ibiza—and extended to other Spanish cities—was rated by SAMUR Madrid as the best course they have taken in their entire history, traditionally selling out a month before launch.

According to Madrid’s Municipal Emergency Health and Rescue Service (SAMUR), “our evaluation is extremely positive. We discovered exceptional professionals who have trained over 400 of our staff, first in a basic module and later in an advanced module on Aggressive Patient Management.” SAMUR management, who also trained with Emergency Staff, highly praises the experiential clinical simulation used to build maximum realism and stress in scenarios, as well as how the Ibiza company works with specific intervention protocols for self-protection, control, immobilization, and sedation, “always within a safe framework.” These courses, they specify, “are highly recommended for doctors, nurses, and emergency medical technicians.” Indeed, as Training Director Andrés García notes, “more and more institutions and entities are requesting us to deliver our courses for their healthcare professionals in other provinces and countries.”
