Yesterday, Thursday June 3rd, marked the end of the final course of the 2021 Healthcare and Emergency Training Forum, IMACC – Multidisciplinary Accident Intervention.
Following a day and a half of continuous learning on multidisciplinary interventions between firefighters and healthcare personnel—where they studied the implementation of the SAVE program in high-risk areas, joint emergency response protocols, advanced life support for polytrauma patients, and risk management in accident scenes during natural environment rescues—the professionals who assist annually in designing the forum’s role-playing workshops were able to put into practice the theory acquired alongside the students (ICU, Emergency, and ward nurses from Hospital Policlínico Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Ibiza), as well as nurses and physicians from the Balearic Islands, Madrid, Murcia, Andalusia, Catalonia…
Firefighters and healthcare staff worked as a team in simulations across various urban and natural scenarios on the outskirts of Santa Eulalia. Car and motorcycle accidents, rescues, and wilderness medical scenarios were recreated, allowing students to learn techniques for operating in these environments and providing medical care to victims with the assistance of firefighters.
The second part of the workshop began around 8:30 PM, transporting participants courtesy of Dipesa coaches to a mountain location outside Santa Eulalia, concluding at 11:00 PM. In this second role-playing phase, we simulated a “real” mountain scenario where actor-victims were trapped beneath tree branches with severe injuries following a weather disaster. Firefighters and healthcare personnel had to cooperate and work together under high-stress protocols to resolve the emergency and rapidly rescue the victims.
With this course, we conclude the second edition of the 2021 Healthcare and Emergency Training Forum.
On behalf of the entire Emergency Staff team, it has been a pleasure to share another year with all of you through our INTDRG, IMACC, and CPAH training programs. We hope these courses equip you with tools that enhance and boost your capabilities to apply in your daily work, both in the healthcare sector and in social and emergency services. Thank you once again for making our dreams come true and for being part of Emergency Staff.
