On May 27th, Plaza Antoni Albert i Nieto transformed into a large open-air classroom to mark International Emergency Medicine Day. Emergency Staff, as a leader in healthcare training, played a starring role in this awareness and learning day organized by the Ibiza Town Council.

Hands-on training and technology at the service of well-being

Emergency Staff set up several interactive training booths that drew the attention of over 150 attendees, including high school students and Ibiza residents. There, our specialized instructors held experiential workshops covering three key pillars of emergency response:

  • Use of AEDs (automated external defibrillators).

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

  • Firefighting and fire suppression.

Participants did not merely listen to technical explanations; they practiced directly using professional equipment such as CPR manikins. Additionally, we incorporated virtual reality technology to immerse users in simulated scenarios, reinforcing learning through hands-on experience.

An experience to empower citizens

“We want younger generations not just to hear about emergency response, but to experience preparedness firsthand. Theory saves lives, but practice transforms,” stated Lluís Tubau, CEO of Emergency Staff, during the event.

Our team also emphasized the critical importance of immediate bystander action during the first minutes of an emergency, before specialized services arrive. This message served as an educational thread across all activities.

A day to remember, an ongoing commitment

The initiative, which featured the participation of multiple response bodies—Local Police, National Police, Red Cross, SAMU 061, Firefighters, and IBANAT—was praised by both authorities and the public.

At Emergency Staff, we extend our gratitude for the institutional collaboration and reaffirm our commitment to innovative, practical training dedicated to collective well-being.
